Dr. Stephanie zeman
Founder, Turn Leaf Wellness
Stephanie Zeman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Certified Sex Therapist who offers thoughtful, holistic therapy for individuals, couples, and families.
Her work is grounded in helping clients reconnect with their strengths, develop internal motivation, and move through life’s challenges with clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.
Approach to Therapy
Stephanie’s approach is holistic, collaborative, and grounded in understanding the whole person. Both internal experiences and the systems that shape them. Therapy is tailored, non-judgmental, and designed to support lasting growth and meaningful change.
Holistic & Systems-Based
Considers emotional patterns, relationships, and life experiences to understand the full picture beyond symptoms alone.
Trauma-Informed Care
Approaches healing with sensitivity, safety, and respect for how trauma impacts identity, connection, and trust.
Integrative Methods
Blends evidence-based approaches to meet clients where they are and adapt as needs evolve over time.
Client-Centered Treatment
Collaboratively builds therapy around each client’s goals, values, and pace for meaningful progress.
Stephanie views trauma as an unplanned disruption in one’s life journey; as an experience that can impact a sense of safety, identity, self-worth, and connection with others. Trauma may arise from events such as betrayal, abandonment, loss, disability, or other deeply personal experiences.
Understanding Trauma & Healing
Healing begins by restoring a sense of safety and understanding how past experiences continue to shape present patterns. Stephanie helps clients gently explore these patterns, develop meaningful insight, and build coping strategies that support healing, stability, and healthier relationships.
Integrative & SpecializedModalities
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
Experiential and process-oriented sessions
Sex therapy and sexuality-informed care
Bowenian family systems therapy
Inner-child exploration
This flexible approach allows therapy to evolve alongside the client, rather than forcing experiences into a rigid modeled care
Clinical Background
& Experience
Stephanie began her career working with substance use and addictive behaviors, where she observed that addiction often stems from underlying emotional wounds and unresolved trauma. This understanding shaped her commitment to addressing root causes rather than symptoms alone.
Over time, Stephanie expanded her work to support individuals, couples, and families facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, relationship distress, sexual trauma, and identity-related concerns. She has served in multiple professional roles, including Primary Therapist, Case Manager, Clinical Director, and College Professor, bringing both clinical depth and leadership experience to her practice.
